Brief Presentation : Martin Koran was born on February, 4th, 1947 in Prague. He is married and has one son. After completing his studies of psychology (1972) at Philosophical faculty of the Charles University in Prague, he started to work in a Psychiatric Reseach Institute (Laboratory for Stress Research). After three years he started to work in a Traffic Research Institute in Prague. Then he worked 15 years in the Psychological Department of Central Military Hospital in Prague. In the year 1986 he has finished the postdoctoral studies in clinical psychology (Dissertation: „Coping with stress in surgery patients“). Since 1992 he has been working in the Homolka Hospital in Prague until now (latest position Head of the Dept. Of Clinical Psychology). In the year 1993 he has finished the postdoctoral studies in Traffic Psychology (Dissertation: „The role of the Psychologist during the coping with consequence of the traffic accidents“). Since 1990 he is a member of presidium of Czech Association of Traffic Psychologists, in the year 1996 he was elected as a member of the Board of the Union of Psychological Association of Czech Republic. Since 1999 he is a member of Task Force Traffic Psychology of EFPA (from 2005 Standing Committee Traffic Psychology) and the delegate from the Czech Republic at the General Assembly of EFPA in Rome (1999), London (2001), Vienna (2003) and Granada (2005), Prague (2007, Oslo (2009) and Istanbul (2011). |
